Dr Christine Swart
Dr Christine Swart completed a BSc and BSc Honours in Physics and an MSc in Graph Theory at the University of Natal, Durban, before doing an MSc in Information Security and a PhD in Cryptography at Royal Holloway, University of London under the supervision of Professor Fred Piper. She did a post-doc with Dan Bernstein in Chicago before moving to the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at the University of Cape Town in January 2005. Dr Swart's PhD was in elliptic curve cryptography, but her current research interests are in symmetric cryptography, particularly stream ciphers. She also does some work in cryptanalysis for the South African Army.
